Immerse yourself in the vibration of healing sounds
In a sound immersion (also called sound meditation or sound bath), groups of people come together in close community to experience the vibrational sounds of gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls and other instruments played to encourage relaxation, reduce stress, and create a deep sense of peace and well being.
You can schedule a sound immersion experience for a group at weekend retreats or conventions to set the tone of the event and to gather the group to promote a sense of community and rejuvenation.
Sound immersions can be tailored for special groups (family gatherings, friends, work colleagues, schools, or clubs) or special celebrations (birthdays, house warmings or blessings, new projects or buildings), and start with as few as five people.
You can choose to have a sound immersion in your own arranged venue, and for the period of time that is appropriate (generally between 30 and 60 minutes), or at The Abbey, Ellen’s healing retreat in Marblehead, MA. The venue will determine how large a group can be accommodated comfortably.
What does it do?
This transformative experience of sound and vibration may accelerate your inner journey of healing and allow the body to return to a more balanced and harmonized state.
Time is suspended as you enter a world of vibration, sensation and experience. Physical injuries may be healed and old emotional traumas released. Great insights can be accessed. You feel connected to your true self on a deep level.
Sound waves affect the human nervous system and decrease blood pressure, reducing anxiety and enhancing mood states.
Nicola Tesla said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
How will it help me?
As the sounds wash over you, the brain state changes and the body will then begin its own healing process. The mind may become still, quiet and empty, or you may go on an inward journey of visualization.
A sound immersion is an experience that is unique to each person.
Set your intention to let go of stress and anxiety and bring your body to a place of relaxation. You may become clearer on an issue that has been troubling you as you allow the sound waves and vibrations to clear and refresh your body and mind.
What is a Sound Immersion like?
Gongs, bowls, and other instruments are situated in a way to allow the sounds and vibrations of the instruments to wash over the people attending. Most people lie down on a mat and a pillow during a sound immersion and they cover themselves with a blanket or something warm. Others may choose to sit on a meditation cushion on the floor or on a chair with something warm around them. The room is often darkened or uses soft lighting during the sound bath. Most of the instruments are played from one place and occasionally they are brought around the room and sometimes played over your body. A safe space is created to allow each individual to experience the deep relaxation and healing that is promoted during the sound bath.
